JORE WOMEN'S PROJECT is the brainchild of Adane Elilo, a young Rotarian who grew up in the tiny village of Jore, became educated in the U.S., and came back to make a difference. Starting with the near impossible task of bringing electricity to the community that had been dark all of his life, Adane found a way to bring light and economic development to the village he calls home. He decided that by focusing primarily on Jore's female leaders, he could help bring about economic improvement through education, technology, and micro-finance which would enable women to start small businesses and provide freedom and increased opportunities for them and all of the villagers. With the help of generous visionaries from around the globe, and his Woodside/Portola Valley Rotary Club, Adane is changing the world. You can too!
